Fall Fair Fun

The Fall Fair, September 17/18 is always a lovely weekend; so much to see, do and eat, not to mention listening to good music and catching up with friends. Is it possible to enjoy it even more?
Entering some of the competitions or volunteering for an hour or two is bound to increase the excitement and fun.

First up we need some volunteers at the Garden Club booth. Usually we are near the entrance which means plenty of people stop for a chat. All you have to do is answer questions about the club, which you already know, and hand out FREE draw tickets for the produce basket. Shifts will be 2 hours or less. Talking of the basket, if you have some fresh fruit or veggies or garden related items to add to it drop them off at the booth on the Saturday. It is a big basket, and a popular item, so don't hold back. Email the club with your availability.

The Fair people are still looking for volunteers to assist at info tables, gate tables and with zucchini races. Zucchini races???

There are some fun kid's activities planned. Zucchini races, guinea pig petting zoo, rabbit agility and a little rangers scavenger hunt with Wildsafe BC. As well there will be a kid zone set up with a cardboard castle for the kids to decorate and the Orca bus

For sheepdog fans there will be sheep herding again, 2pm Saturday and 3pm Sunday.

Have you ever entered anything into the Fair competitions? There are numerous categories: flowers, jam, quilts, toys, photography, fruit and veg, pottery, soap, woodworking, scrapbooking, to name just a few.
