Plant Sale Volunteers Needed-A Fun and As Safe as We Can Make It Opportunity

Those of you who have volunteered in the past for the plant sale will know what a rewarding job it is. Understandably, this year, there will be concerns about volunteer safety. I am posting the Covid safety plan for the Plant Sale and the volunteer descriptions so you can make an informed decision. The  Covid safety plan follows the guidelines from BC Health & WorkSafeBC and it has been reviewed by the Environmental Health Officer.

The measures in place are:

  •  face masks
  •  screening & sign in (you will receive a self screening document)
  •  hand sanitizing
  • cleaning crew-for pots, equipment and surfaces (stand still and you may be wiped down too)
  •  physical distancing
  •  one way traffic flows (even for the bathroom!)
  •  small work groups (if you already have a bubble who would volunteer together it would be a bonus)
  •  outside drop off and pick up
  • timed drop off and pick up, only one person at a time

The volunteers still needed:

May 15 and /or May16, at the Curling Rink in Cranberry

 Shift Supervisors
○ Train volunteers, Troubleshoot issues, Monitor Covid rules

Volunteer Check-In Desk
○ Screen volunteers, sign in volunteers, tell them where to go

 Product Handlers
○ Accept deliveries, Assemble orders May 15,
Move orders to outdoor table as per timed schedule May 16

 Cleaners

(My husband usually volunteers for this role. This year I am going to have to promise him cake for when he gets home, the wonderful food is really why he shows up 😊. Safety rules won't allow it this year)

Help set-up Curling Rink on May 14

If you can help with any of the above positions or would like more info please email Karen at ourplantsale@gmail.com

Our plant sale team has done an outstanding job but they need help moving forward.

All garden club members will be emailed a comprehensive description of the plant sale so please don't fret if you are not seeing all the info on the blog-It's Coming! 😵
