Two to pique your interest

Pancratium maritimum - Sea Daffodil - Here's something your friends won't have: sea daffodil (Pancratium maritimum) is a rare bulb in cultivation native from the Mediterranean basin to the Black Sea where it grows on beaches and coastal dunes. It has long, strap-like leaves and gorgeous, intricate, daffodil-like flowers that resemble an icy star. It is lightly fragrant. Perhaps best grown in a pot with good drainage. Place it in a hot spot to encourage flowering.
Paris polyphylla - Paris - Perhaps more than any other perennial, this rare woodland treasure earns the right to be called “exquisite”. Paris polyphylla is a Trillium relative from the Himalayas, Western China, and southeast Asia. The stem is circled by a single whorl of glossy, green leaves which is echoed by the flower with its own whorl of green bracts subtending threadlike yellow-green petals, golden stamens and purple ovary. Part shade in rich soil. Can take a "year off" after planting and not emerge till the next year.
