Zucchini Mountain?

Have you ever had an over abundance of zucchini, beans or apples at harvest time?
There are agencies in Powell River who would be grateful for any fresh produce you cannot use. They serve seniors, families, the disabled, Moms and babies, the homeless and teens transitioning from foster care.

Following is a list of agencies with the drop off times and days. If they are on this list it means everything is confirmed and there is no need for you to phone ahead. The produce doesn't have to be washed or prepped in any way, just in a bag or box.

Salvation Army,  4500 Joyce, Monday or Friday 9am to 12 noon
Inclusion Powell River 7055 Alberni  (looks like a church) Monday to Friday 9am-2pm
Family Place inside Town Centre Mall next to Save On Foods Monday to Wednesday 10-12noon
Community Resource Centre 4752 Joyce Ave Monday 10am-4pm, Tues to Thurs 12noon-4pm
Youth and Family Services 7105 Nootka above VIU (Oceanview school building) Look for sign to right of main door. Tues to Friday 9am-1pm, open until 4pm on Thursdays
7th Day Adventist Church 4880 Manson (left hand side door looking from street-up the ramp)
Tues or Friday 8am to 1pm (closed July and August)

If you know of a group who would benefit from receiving fresh produce email the blog and I will add them to the list. Please confirm with the group and supply details as to time, day and location.
