A New Year's Rosey Treat

Pure indulgence in this post. A while back Liz K. and Diana W. emailed some photos of  roses they recommend for our area. For your enjoyment:

Albertine in Liz's garden.  "A popular rambler. Reddish-salmon buds, opening to large, coppery-pink, almost double flowers. Very vigorous and reliable. Strong, rich fragrance". David Austin

Rosa banksiae 'Lutea' (Lady Bank's Yellow Rose) from Diana's garden. "It is a scrambling shrubby vine growing vigorously to 6 m (20 ft) tall.  It is almost thornless. The leaves are evergreen in mild climates. The flowers are small, 1.5-2.5 cm diameter, white or pale yellow. It is amongst the earliest flowering of all roses, flowers usually appearing during May in the northern hemisphere, though cold weather can delay flowering". RHS

Constance Spry, another recommended by Diana. "Large, glowing pure rose pink, deeply cupped blooms. Strong myrrh fragrance. Summer flowering". David Austin
